About Elizabeth J King

I've been blessed with this ability from a young child having seen spirit (although I was not always aware at the time that the person wasn't mortal), had uncanny feelings about things, experienced premonitions, sensed things about people and places and generally was an old soul who my grandmother labelled as "knowing too much". I knew that I was different but wasn't completely comfortable with matters until I was approached by an experienced medium in my early 20s, who offered to help me come to terms with and channel my abilities in a controlled and empathetic way. Thanks to this wonderful lady I am now at one with what I do and have been reading consistently for 25 years. I read intuitively and tend to channel through tarot cards and automatic writing (also known as psychic writing). However, as a psychic sometimes thoughts are just placed in my head or mental images. No singular reading is the same. They all manifest differently, and I go with where the often-fascinating flow leads me, picking up on aspects of a person's life, whether that be past, present or future.

What do you like most about giving readings to clients?

I enjoy the bond that I build with clients offering a kind, honest and supportive service. One interaction can make a difference to a person's existence, and I find that uniquely powerful. Clients seek out a reading for all manner of reasons, whether to do with pressing matters in their life, loss of a loved one, a sense of intrigue or any other motivation. I never tire of providing complete focus on a person as an individual to channel the very best reading for them. I am fascinated by individual energies and am protective of every reading like a chapter in a much-loved book.

How would you say you are typical of your star sign?

I would say that I am absolutely an archetypal Gemini! I'm mercurial, energetic and highly versatile. Geminis have an ability to be the creative chameleons of the zodiac, and I am artistic in every aspect of my life. Our duality also manifests in a number of nuanced ways with mine tending to define me as outgoing yet sensitive. I am also a typical Gemini chatterbox and am endlessly fascinated by possibilities and a thirst for knowledge.

When do you remember being first aware of your gift?

I remember riding a pony through ancient woodland when I was very small in the early 80s. An adult was leading me. As we took the meandering path through a valley, I remember my attention being drawn up towards some trees. As I glanced up I saw a man in a three-cornered Georgian hat. It certainly wasn't Adam Ant, but the dismissive adult told me that there was nobody there when I mentioned it. I then got locked in my primary school library (an old Victorian schoolhouse) by an invisible force that held the round doorknob against my hand as I tried to open the door. I then heard a laugh before the door fell open. Things then progressed throughout childhood. I would tell my mother that I didn't like certain people, I just took an instant dislike despite them ostensibly being charming. I was always right and they generally turned out to be unsavoury. I then started having accurate premonitions in my dreams, saw spirit on many occasions including in old historic venues and started telling people 'little stories' that somehow came to my mind. I was called 'imaginative' despite some of the stories being biographically accurate.

What is your most memorable experience with a client?

There have been many over the years, but one really memorable reading involved seeing a random young man appear in my doorway just as it was getting dark. He was very distinctive and wore a particularly striking blouson. I then visited a new client at home the next day to read for her. As I settled down to get my cards out, I noticed the same young man in a photo on the dresser. The reading that developed was very interesting.

What other experiences or qualifications do you have that you feel compliment your work as a reader?

Throughout my professional life I have always worked in person centred roles where a focus on helping others is important. This has enhanced my ability to be both empathetic and to be a good listener. I've encountered all sorts of people from many walks of life, which I find stimulating, enchanting and it has honed my natural ability to build an affinity with a wide range of people.

What is the most important thing for a person to consider when they decide to have a psychic reading?

Firstly, I think that a prospective client needs to be ready to encounter the experience and they need to keep an open mind. They also need to be realistic and to understand that their energy defines the experience whether they get messages relating to the past, present or the future. A reader can never predict what will come out as every reading is unique to that one person. Predictions don't always happen the next day and so they need to hold onto the messages moving forwards. Ultimately free will, will always define somebody's life first and foremost, clients also need to consider this.
