Psychic Question

My mother is 99 and lives on Ireland. Last week she fell and broke her hip so I am going over to see her tomorrow for a few days. Now my mum is a strong feisty woman but she is also very frail and she also has brittle bone disease. I have a sister who is very bossy and controlling. My mum lives with her in a granny flat. My sister is insisting when she comes out of hospital that she and the family will care for her. She wants to bring her straight home. She will not pay for nursing care as she says it is too expensive although I know mum has the money to pay for it. I know she want to get me involved as she says it is my duty. I am very worried about this as I am not a nurse. I can give her love and moral support but I cannot nurse her. I am very depressed about my trip there as I feel she will put the pressure to get me involved. By the way my sister works and so does her daughter. So who will look after Mother then and I am fearful of something happening to her because of this. I am extremely worried.

I am being shown that the real reason for your sister to insist that that the family will care for her rather than expert care is all connected to money. I can see that your sister has high expectations for you to do your share of the work regarding your mother. You will need to stand strong where this is concerned and it may be wise to really talk to the medical profession to see what they feel is right for you mum and to also make them aware that with both your sister and her daughter working there would be times when your mum would be left to fend for herself.. I am being shown that your sister is really adamant no matter what is said that she will have it her way and she is actually setting herself up to fail, and your sister is going to have to admit defeat as she will not cope with this situation. It is important to get all the facts and also talk to your mum to ascertain what it is she wants and the money side is the second thing that needs to be thought about as your mum and her welfare is the priority here. Resist the pressure to agree to something that you are not wishing to do, in time they will realize that they have taken on more than they expect and then they will re-think things to the way that you wanted it in the first instance.
