I come from a family of female psychics on my Mother's side and I have been a clairvoyant, clairaudient and clairsentient psychic from a young age. My first deck of tarot cards found me after having what I call "a tower moment" and finding myself in a strange town, was drawn into the local hippy shop. I bought the deck I felt most connected to and although I now have many other decks, my first deck is still my tried and tested go-to deck (albeit I'm now on my 6th/7th replacement cards). Over the years, I would read for friends and even people I would meet on my travels (I never travel without a deck in my bag). I remember one elderly lady sitting on the bus next to me and pouring out her life story to me, quite upset. In my early 30's, I visited a tarot reader recommended by a friend. He spread the cards across the table and asked me to pick which ones I felt drawn to. When the tips of my fingers tingled, I chose the cards. The first 4 cards I chose were all the Aces, leaving the reader (and myself) somewhat bemused. I found this especially poignant as my Grandmother's dressmaking scissors, which I have in my possession, are stamped with the 4 playing card symbols. It was then I knew that I really had to answer the call and I have now been using tarot cards for over 15 years, as a way to channel my abilities and to help others on their spiritual path and navigate through life's challenges.
What do you like most about giving readings to clients?
I love connecting on a soul-level with those I read for, who have the most interesting stories and knowing that someone's day may be brighter and more hopeful because we've made that connection. When a client reconnects with me to tell me the outcome of their reading, and I can feel their energy has changed and they sound much happier, well, this is why I love what I do. I know from experience that it is always darkest before dawn and sometimes we just need someone to shine the light to show the way, so in a way I'm "paying forward" the luck, light and love that the Universe has sent to me and I love that I'm able to do that knowing that I'm part of a ripple effect and those I read for may then go on to do the same for others.
How would you say you are typical of your star sign?
I'm a Capricorn, so I'm definitely a hard worker, if I set my mind to something, I will usually achieve it, despite any obstacles or setbacks. Like the goat climbing the mountain, if one path doesn't work, I'll find another path but I will reach the top of the mountain because I know the view will be worth it. Funnily enough, I live in Scotland and hill walking in the mountains is one of my favourite ways to ground myself, being grounded is another Capricorn trait. I'm very practical and sensible (though I have just bought a motorbike, which is probably neither). Money isn't really important to me, only in as much as it gives me the freedom and time to enjoy spending quality time with loved ones and to do the work I actually love doing, instead of slogging for a pay check each month. And yes, I admit, I can be stubborn as a goat at times.
When do you remember being first aware of your gift?
I've always been susceptible to the energies of people and places for as long as I can remember, I seem to have always known if someone wasn't being honest or had ill-intent. I remember as a young teenager, standing in the grounds of an abandoned house I had been exploring with my sister and turning around to pet the dog I heard panting beside me but when I turned around, there was no dog...except in spirit of course. I also lived next to a graveyard when I was younger and one night felt the edge of the mattress sink down as if someone had sat on it. Needless to say, I kept the light on for the rest of the night.
What is your most memorable experience with a client?
Most recently, I had a client contact me asking if I could do her reading again, as she hadn't written down what I'd said and couldn't remember the cards I had pulled for her. As I did her second reading, it became clear to both of us that practically the same cards were jumping out as the previous reading, with slight variations on a couple of the cards. (I did give her a free career reading also, as I didn't think it fair that she essentially paid for the same reading twice). I've also asked another client if he was thinking of writing a book, to which he replied it was almost finished.
What other experiences or qualifications do you have that you feel compliment your work as a reader?
I am qualified in Mental Health and Social Care, and having worked in the areas of disaffected youth, homelessness, mental health and substance misuse, I find that the 2 vocations complement each other very well.
What is the most important thing for a person to consider when they decide to have a psychic reading?
Always have a pen and piece of paper to hand when having your reading. You will want to jot down key points and the cards dealt in your reading to look back on at a later time. Ground your energies and clear your mind as much as you can beforehand, this helps us to connect with you and ensures a clear and concise reading for you. Remember, that you always have free-will regarding any situation or reading given to you. Above all, be open minded. Asking for a reading and then immediately discounting the guidance offered, merely because you are not open minded, is a waste of my energy and your money.
