Psychic Sofa App Terms & Conditions

Thank you for downloading the Psychic Sofa app. Below are the terms and conditions which govern your use of the app and its associated services.

Introduction

Psychic Sofa Limited (Company No. 09255610) operates the Psychic Sofa app ("the App") available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, in addition to www.psychicsofa.com ("the Website"). These terms and conditions govern your use of the App and services accessed through it. By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these terms in full.

Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of the app store you downloaded it from (Apple's App Store Terms of Service, or Google Play's Terms of Service). Where there is a direct conflict between those store terms and these terms, the store terms will take precedence for matters they govern, such as billing, refunds processed through the store, and app removal.

Eligibility and Account

You must be 18 or over to use the App. You must be the account holder or payment card holder, or have that person's permission, to make any payment or purchase through the App.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any login credentials, biometric login (such as Face ID or fingerprint) or PIN used to access your Psychic Sofa wallet through the App. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

App Permissions and Device Access

The App may request permission to access certain features of your device in order to function correctly, including:

  • Push notifications, to let you know about reader availability, promotions, or updates to your reading
  • Network/data access, to connect you with readers and process payments

You can manage or withdraw these permissions at any time through your device settings. Withdrawing certain permissions may mean parts of the App no longer work as intended.

Readings via Phone Call

You can access readings via a telephone call made via the device. The service is for over 18s only. All calls are recorded in compliance with Ofcom's terms of service.

If you are using the credit card service, at the end of your call you will be given the option to extend the consultation.

Psychic Sofa Wallet

You can top up your Psychic Sofa Wallet balance within the App by card.

Any promotional offers referenced within the App (for example, bonus minutes on top-up) are subject to change and may differ from those shown on the Website.

Refunds (paying with your Credit or Debit Card)

If you fail to connect with a reader, please end the call within the first 5 minutes and contact our office on 0161 784 1073 within 48 hours of your call.

We can then either offer you a reading with a different reader or a full refund. Please keep a note of the time, date and reader, plus the phone number or account you used.

  • Your reading must have been less than 5 minutes in duration.
  • You must provide valid details of why you were dissatisfied with your reading.
  • Refunds will only be paid once for each reader you didn't connect with.
  • Calls that last more than 5 minutes before termination will only be entitled to the remaining minutes with another reader.
  • This policy is subject to fair usage and we reserve the right to decline a refund, or to offer another reading, if we believe the request is not fair, genuine or valid.
  • As part of our monitoring of refunds we reserve the right to listen to calls.
  • All requests must be made through our office (0161 784 1073) and are subject to verification.
  • Requests for refunds must be made within 48 hours of the call being terminated.

Before contacting us, you must have the following information ready. We cannot discuss any calls without this information:

  • Date and time of the call
  • Length of the call
  • If you used a credit card, the last 4 digits of the card used
  • If you used your Wallet, the Wallet account number
  • The name of the reader you had a call with
  • The reason for the refund

Credits (using your Psychic Sofa Wallet balance)

If you fail to connect with a reader using your Wallet balance, please end the call within the first 5 minutes and contact our office on 0161 784 1073 within 48 hours.

We will then credit your Wallet account with the minutes used for that reading. A "refund" for calls made using your Wallet balance refers to a refund of minutes to your Wallet balance. No monetary refunds will be given.

  • Calls that last longer than 5 minutes will not be re-credited to your Wallet.

Notifications and Marketing Preferences

If you contact us on an advertised telephone service from a mobile device, you will automatically be entered to receive free promotions. To opt out, call during office hours on 0161 784 1073.

If you have had a reading by text and no longer wish to receive free promotional messages, please text STOP to 67755.

Where the App sends you push notifications, including promotional or marketing notifications, you can turn these off at any time in your device's notification settings, or within the App's own notification preferences if available. Turning off marketing push notifications will not affect essential service notifications.

App Licence and Acceptable Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms.

You must not:

  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law
  • Use the App on a jailbroken, rooted or otherwise modified device in a way that circumvents its security or payment controls
  • Use any automated system, bot or script to interact with the App
  • Use the App in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful, or in connection with any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the App, our servers, or any connected systems

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms.

App Availability and Updates

We aim to keep the App available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside of our control.

From time to time we may release updates to the App to add features, fix issues, or maintain compatibility with your device's operating system. Some updates may be required before you can continue using the App. We are not responsible if an older version of the App stops working as a result of changes to your device's operating system or app store policies.

All psychic readings and consultations, however accessed, are provided for entertainment purposes only and do not in any way constitute medical, financial, legal, personal or any sort of professional advice. By engaging in a psychic reading or using the App, you understand that we do not provide recommendations, advice or give any directions for you to follow. A reader may, from time to time, offer a personal opinion, but this does not constitute advice. A reader will not diagnose illnesses or conditions (including questions pertaining to pregnancy and death). The content of psychic readings and use of the App are for entertainment purposes only and should not be relied upon.

We do not refer, endorse, recommend, verify, evaluate or guarantee any services provided by readers, and nothing shall be considered a referral, endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of any reader. We do not warrant the validity, accuracy, completeness, safety, legality, quality or applicability of the content or anything said or written by any reader or any advice provided. We will not be liable for any damages sustained due to reliance by you on such information.

Readers are not our employees, and the provision of any service by a reader is directly between you and the reader. You and the reader are solely responsible for the conversations which occur while a reader is providing any services.

Reviews and Feedback

Psychic Sofa fully investigates every reading that results in negative feedback at the customer's request. This will require us to listen to the call recording. If action is required, we speak directly with the reader in question. We will not always discuss the outcome outside of the business.

No psychic reader can connect with every one of their clients, so we offer a full refund to anyone who feels, within the first 5 minutes of their reading, that they were unable to establish a connection (credit/debit card calls only). See the refunds section above for full details.

We publish feedback (positive or negative) provided it was based on a genuine experience and could be helpful to future clients when choosing the right reader. We do not publish feedback containing profanities, unnecessary bad language, requests to log on to the service, or requests for personal information.

If you leave a review of the App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, that review is also subject to Apple's or Google's own review guidelines, and we have no control over whether or how it is published or removed by them.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time, including to reflect changes to the App, its features, or app store requirements. Where changes are significant, we will notify you within the App or by another reasonable means. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
