What does it mean when we see a ghost? Some interesting information about the unknown.

Many of us claim to have seen ghosts but still remain a little uncertain. We may feel that what seemed to look like a ghost was just a shadow, a dream or a vague memory, but in actual fact when you see a ghost you will really know! This is because a ghost has a presence and an energy that speaks to us. If you have had the experience of seeing or even speaking with a ghost then you may have felt shocked and even traumatised because of it being such a rare occurrence.

Seeing a ghost is not something that we expect to see everyday and when we finally come face to face with an energy that is supernatural it can indeed leave us in a state of shock! We don’t always get to identify the ghost either. For example, some ghosts appear for no reason at all whereas other will be members of our family or friends that have passed over to send us a special message. The traditional view of ghosts is that they are trapped spirits of dead people and are therefore having difficulty in moving on. In other words they are in the “in between”.

This often happens as a result of tragedy, for example they have passed over when it hasn’t really been their time or the spirit was perhaps forced out of the body too quickly. Ghost hunters and also psychics believe that earth bound spirits do not know that they are dead. [1]A Veteran ghost hunter Hans Holzer wrote, "A ghost is a human being who has passed out of the physical body, usually in a traumatic state and is not aware usually of his true condition. We are all spirits encased in a physical body. At the time of passing, our spirit body continues into the next dimension. A ghost, on the other hand, due to trauma, is stuck in our physical world and needs to be released to go on." Many mediums also describe spirits in this way and have a strong belief that we are indeed energies, energy does not actually die, it just transforms and this is how we are able to communicate with the spirit world. There are many different types of ghosts that we can begin to identify.

The first ghost is probably the most common of all and this is the ghost that has an interactive personality and comes from the deceased human body, so the spirit of that human In this case the ghost will come through as a friend or a family member and is one that we can identify with straight away as it is personal to us. We may see this ghost in a dream, passing through the room or in a visualisation. We can still experience the same feelings of fear and shock upon seeing it present itself, merely because we are not expecting to but also because of a hidden belief that has suddenly been confirmed.

The sort of interactions this ghost will use will be mainly visual or audible. It may even put scents under your nose, such as performs or aftershaves that they use to wear. They may even communicate via your feelings by displaying a range of emotions and temperaments in presence, so that you feel them too. Some are very playful and excitable whilst other may remain fearful and anxious. Remember these are the spirits of humans and the energy more often than not remains exactly the same as it did before they left the planet.

The second type of ghost will have a “non interactive personality” this is the sort of ghost that will not speak or appear but perhaps shows itself in snapshots. For example photographs where we see vague glimmers of light. You often see this in films or documentaries where the actors or crew have been filming in haunted buildings. The same situation often occurs in houses that have been haunted for quite sometime where you may experience an unpleasant or unusual cold atmosphere within the building. This type of ghost may also repeat routines that they were use to such as turning light switches on or off or slamming doors.

It is assumed by many ghost hunters that these types of ghosts are unaware that they have passed over, just like humans can be in denial, many ghosts can be too! The other type of ghost is quite rare and this is a ghost that usually appears when it is still alive. Sound strange? Well it is! What it boils down to is this. Quite often when the human mind is forced into a fight or flight situation they can almost lose track of their being. So will appear when the person that the ghost is manifesting is perhaps in danger.

For example, experiencing an accident or needed to defend oneself during trauma such as war or violence. The spirit will go to the closest place it knows, or the safest. Therefore if you are particularly receptive and have experienced situations where you have seen the ghost of someone who is alive then this could be why! It doesn’t even need to be someone you know, it could be a complete stranger who just connects with your soul aura and energy. Another example of seeing a ghost of someone who is still alive could either be someone who is in coma where they are “half in spirit and in human”.

You may have experienced all of these or perhaps even just one of them. Remember that seeing a ghost is a very special experience and is a sign that you are incredibly receptive to the spiritual realms.

So don’t be fearful, just leave your eyes open to what might be!

With love and lights x x x x x x x
