The True Cost Of Your Happiness

Whilst you are busy doing your best to be happy, it’s essential that you don’t scupper your chances by doing things that actually cost you the contentment that you seek.

Happiness doesn’t always come easy. Most people have to work damn hard to achieve some balanced level of contentment or happiness in life. Whilst you are busy doing your best to be happy, it’s essential that you don’t scupper your chances by doing things that actually cost you the contentment that you seek.

There are many things that we all habitually do without realizing the potential damage that may be caused. To be truly happy you must do the inner work that’s required to improve your self, whilst also ensuring that you don’t do any of the following:

  • Energy Imbalance

No matter how much fun your mates may be, spending time with people who drain your energy negatively impacts on your chances of achieving your desired happiness. If you have fair-weather friends, or pals who like to manipulate, control or take centre stage in every situation, you are surrounding yourself with toxic people. Spending time with these psychic vampires, or energy drainers, will deplete your energy and rob you of your high frequency happy vibe.

Choose your friends with care. Surround yourself with easy-going, upbeat and positive folk who boost your energy and happiness. Keeping your energy balanced will ensure that your happiness is steady and stable.

  • Not Being True To Yourself

Being a people pleaser, and placing too much value on what others think, guarantees that you are not living a life that is free and happy. Not being true to yourself, and therefore failing to honor your own needs and desires, will stop you attaining true happiness. If your choices and decisions are based on someone else’s opinions or ideas you are allowing this person to influence the quality of your life.

Take back your power and follow your heart. Even if you make mistakes along the way, every decision that you freely choose to make will teach you a valuable life lesson. Only you know what’s best for you.

  • Missing Out On What You Already Have

It’s easy to get so wrapped up in wishing and wanting that you fail to notice and appreciate everything that you already have. Having more ‘stuff’, a bigger house, a flashy car etc will never give you ultimate happiness. True happiness is free and comes from within.

When you learn to value all that you have your perception of life dramatically changes. Being appreciative and grateful opens your heart and makes you feel genuinely happy, regardless of the stuff that you possess. The happier you are, the more likely you will be to attract the things that you truly desire. Wishing you were someone else or someplace else will simply keep you in a place of believing that you have ‘not enough’ of what it is that you want.

  • The Present Moment

If you are too busy focusing on the big goal or the perfect outcome you will miss out on enjoying the journey to happiness success. Adopting a mindful attitude helps you stay focused on the present moment, and the place where happiness is. The past is long gone, and the future is way up ahead. All that you ever have is the present moment in which to make everything you do, say and think really matter. Get into the habit of appreciating every single moment and celebrating mini events and happenings that occur every day, and that make you feel good inside. Before you know it, you’ll realize that every day is filled with happy moments.
