A look at the numerology of 2015 and what is in store for us this year.
2015 is approaching, and it’s time to look ahead to what the new year will bring. In numerology, 2015 is an 8 universal year (2+0+1+5=8). The number 8 is a number of balance, and it is the number and symbol of karma. The balancing energy of the number 8 will affect everyone on the planet, on a global scale as well as a personal one.
It would be nice to believe that as time goes on, the world is becoming more balanced and equal. However this isn’t exactly true; technology is advancing, and with it the gap between the rich and the poor. People are working longer and longer hours, and the focus seems to be on who can afford the newest and biggest gadgets. Relationships with other humans are breaking down due to the lack of interaction; the growth of social media means people are spending more time on their phones than having actual conversations. 2015 is the year to begin to fix these imbalances. The number 8 is the number of money and power, and this suggests that the global financial situation will start to become more balanced. It is also the perfect time to take a look at your own finances; create a budget plan, and focus more on saving than spending. This will benefit you in the long run, giving you security should you need it.
The first step in creating balance in your life, is to take some time to reflect and analyse how you spend your time. Do you spend most of your time focusing on work, spending long hours in the office and then bringing the stress home with you? If you do, you could focus on how to separate your work and personal lives. Create a plan to make your work hours more productive so that you can get more done in a smaller amount of time. Then, be sure to leave your work in the office. This is obviously easier said than done, especially for those with demanding deadlines or who are on call, but not having a break from work can actually be more detrimental in the long run.
The number 8 is also a very spiritual number, and the next step in balancing your life is to use this extra time to add some spirituality.Spirituality can often be neglected because we simply don’t feel like we have the time to spare to practice it. The new year is the perfect time to reflect on life, ridding ourselves of bad habits, and creating new, healthier ones. Even if you give yourself just ten minutes a day, to sit and meditate or practice yoga, you will benefit both your physical and mental wellbeing. Sitting and just simply focusing on your breathing gives you a chance to empty your mind of the constant loud thoughts and stresses of the day, and helps you move forward feeling clear headed and confident.
As previously mentioned, the rise of social media means that we now talk to our family and friends through a screen rather than face to face. Another way to add balance to your life this year is to put down your phone or computer, and make some quality time with your loved ones. There is no substitute for good conversation with somebody you love and admire. Take time to visit elderly relatives, catch up with friends you haven’t seen in a long time, call your parents. Let the people you love know that you love them, and you will feel the love in return.
